Props to everyone that came with us up to the big NYC to witness the debut of Mad Raver Rai on decks. The headliner Jon O'Bir absolutely killed it. Now, I will be the first to admit that a term like "killed it" is frequently overused to the point where almost anything marginly above average is said to have "killed it." While talking about the night to Team Zero member Chip, he told me that he was not sure if he was in the main room while Jon O'Bir was on. I exhaled, looked him straight in the eyes and said to him, "Remember when you were in the main room and the tracks became noticably more amazing and the set turned from cool to nasty?" He thought for a minute and then barely hiding his internal smile Chip replied, "Yea...." "Ok - that was Jon O'Bir." I am by no means putting down the other DJs of the main room, Jon O'Bir was simply more baller pimp. Later this week we will have pictures from the event and we will be playing Mad Raver Rai's live set from Love in an upcoming show. I hope you guys already have you tickets for Dj Shadow Cut Chemist and Kid Kola - if you want to see true masters of the hip hop turntable then you will be at this event...simple as that. Grats to the New England Patriots and the New York Giants . The Super Bowl should be...uh... in 2 weeks pzpz -mo |
